Wash and dry apples and insert sticks. combine sugar,corn syrup and water in heavy saucepan over high heat and stir constantly with a wooden spoon until all sugar is dissolved. Continue to cook until mixture reaches 285 degrees quickly remove from heat and stir in red food coloring. Dip apples in mixture and place on a buttered piece of foil. Store tightly wrapped with plastic wrap if not using the first day or they will become sticky.
